In the Gospel Reading According to Mark, it shows how Jesus was followed by the crowd wherever he
went. In the same manner, Jesus in these lines that say, “Come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.” This shows us the human aspect of Jesus where He himself wants to momentarily rest from assisting the needs of the crowd by asking them to leave Him behind and take some time for reflection. However in the Gospel, people did otherwise, they followed Jesus such that they went to where He and the disciples were heading. Because of that, Jesus was moved with compassion forgetting His own personal need to rest as He went to take care of the crowd’s needs first.
We can be on the same boat like that of the vast crowd. Whenever we hear the word of God, there is a natural tendency in us to seek and follow God. It is just like an irresistible force in us that says, only through God and in God, will everything be fully satisfied. Let us feel the warm presence of God amidst us that through the eyes of faith so as the power of God may manifest in our fragile beings. Let us allow God to fill our hearts with the love He bears for men. He alone can keep us on track. It may not be in the form of extraordinary moments but in the simplest ways that He is leading us to pray.
It is in prayer where the power of a Christian begins. It is when we pray that we let God direct us in following His will.

Greetings in the name of our LORD JESUS!
